George James Hebert Sr. entered into eternal rest on June 25, 2023. Beloved husband of Dorothy Ceruti Hebert for 58 years. Father of George James Hebert Jr. (Niki) and Shelley Hebert Henderson (Marcus). Grandfather of Bryce Richard Hebert, Drew Stephen Hebert (Olivia), Joel Stephen Milano (Ali), Noah Alan Henderson, and Elye James Henderson. Great grandfather of Rue Elyse Hebert, Reece Elizabeth Hebert, and Reed Elye Hebert. Son of the late George E. Hebert and Nora Gaubert Hebert.
Age 81, George was a native of Westwego, Louisiana, and a resident of Lafitte, Louisiana. George graduated from West Jefferson High School, and received his bachelor's in Business Administration from Southeastern University. He received his Masters in Education from Loyola University. He worked in Jefferson Parish School System for 43 years as a teacher, assistant principal, child welfare and attendance supervisor, assistant to the regional superintendent, and regional superintendent. He has enjoyed the last 16 years of retirement by volunteering, reading, watching his grandsons play sports, and babysitting his great-grandchildren. His family will deeply miss him. Mr.Hebert was an always kind and caring ,and supportive .
He was my Assistant Superintendent during my administrative years at JPPSS.
He made a difference in my life . I will always remember him.Sending love and prayers to his beautiful family.
