George Hedges Obituary
November 24, 1929 - August 1, 2025
George Dale Hedges, son of George W. and Naomi (Crawford) Hedges was born in Lincoln, NE, on November 24, 1929, and died on August 1, 2025, at the age of 95.
Services for Dale will be held Friday, August 8, 2025, at the United Methodist Church in Central City at 10 a.m. Visitation with the family will be held one hour before. Interment will be at the Central City cemetery following the service. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post #6.
Dale graduated from Central City High School in 1947. He attended Nebraska Central College. He served in the Korean War and was awarded a Purple Heart, afterwards returning to the family farm. He married Barbara Norgard in 1954. He married Bernardine Bolling in 1980. Dale was a member of the American Legion Post #6 and the Methodist Church. After 28 years of carrying mail for the U.S. Postal Service he retired to go to work with Sandy and Gregg Royle on their farm.
He was preceded in death by his parents; both wives Bernardine and Barbara; three brothers John, Wayne, and Gerry; two sisters- in-laws, Marge Hedges and Kay Hedges; stepdaughter Anita Bolling; grandson Kevin Riblett Jr.; great-grandson Hunter Hawthorne; great-grandson Ambrose Bolling and sons-in-law Terry Dallege and Morgan Woode. Those left to cherish his memory are his four daughters, Melanie Riblett; Marceil (Randy) Fousek; Kay (Doug) Grosshans; Kelly (Kirk) Melson; and ten step-children; Laura Dallege; Char Bolling; Chris Gramberg; Russ (Iva) Bolling; Tim (Sandy) Bolling; Hanna (Tom) Hawthorne; Andy (Denise) Bolling; Matt (Marcia) Bolling; Mark (Kim) Bolling; Trish Bolling; his younger brother Ned (Eola) Hedges; and sister-in-law Clarice Hedges; 32 beloved grandchildren, 3 inherited Royle grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and their families.
