George S. Hyde, 72, of Rochester, NH, former resident of Lyndeborough, NH, died on May 15, 2025, at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital, after a period of declining health.
He was born on August 16, 1952, in Nashua, NH, a son of the late John F. and Muriel (Scott) Hyde Sr.
George was raised and educated in Lyndeborough, graduating from Wilton High School. He worked for many years as a mechanic.
When he was not working, he enjoyed time spent playing cribbage, scratch tickets, cooking and most importantly time spent with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by his siblings, infant sister Katherine Hyde, John F. Hyde Jr, Mary Hyde Leavitt and Joan E. Hyde.
Survivors include his loving children and their spouses, Steven and Deidre Hyde of Rochester, NH and Janessa and Stephen Thibodeau also of Rochester, NH, his former wife and lifelong partner, Becky Hyde of Rochester, NH, 9 grandchildren Isaac Thibodeau, Garrett Thibodeau, Nikita Boisvert, Joseph Boisvert, Cody Hyde, Brooklynn Thibodeau, Jayden Thibodeau, Taylor Thibodeau, Haylee Thibodeau, 1 great granddaughter Isla Thibodeau, sisters Ruth Lambert and Anne Amlaw of Keene, NH and many nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 12:00 PM in the East Cemetery, Wheeler Road, Hollis, NH. All are invited to meet directly at the cemetery.
