George Stephen Johnson

George Stephen Johnson, 86, of East Ridge, TN, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2025, at home surrounded by family. He was a longtime member of Northside Presbyterian Church in Chattanooga. George served our country in the U.S. Army. He loved to watch auto-racing, especially Nascar and Formula One racing.

George was born on September 28, 1938, in Chattanooga to the late Donald Meredith and Elizabeth Johnson.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, Joseph M. Johnson.

George is survived by his wife of 64 years, Rebecca Johnson; his children, Stephen Johnson and Stephanie (Chris) Harris; his grandchildren, Brittany Harris and Kacee Michel; his 6 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A private tournament will take place at Chattanooga National Cemetery in Chattanooga.
