Ronald L. Massingale, 93, of
Ringgold, GA, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Ron was a profound Christian who had his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at the center of his life. Ron was a long-time member of Burning Baptist Church in
Ringgold, GA; where he was a member in the Believers in Christ Sunday school class, served as a deacon, and was a member of the Burning Bush choir.
Ron was born on October 30, 1932, in
Benton, TN. Ronald graduated from Polk County High School in
Benton, TN. He also attended the University of Tennessee and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Ronald served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Campaign in Germany. He retired from Combustion Engineering (Alstom) and later retired from the U.S. Postal Service. Ron was a Chattanooga Choo Choo Barbershoper.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. J. Emory and Loretta Nicholson Bonds Massingale; his sister Louise Bonds Frazier; and his nephew, Randy Benton.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Reba Gracy Massingale; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Ron was very fond of his caregivers: Roba, Becky, Randall, Mackenzie, and Jagger. A special thanks to Hearth Hospice nurses: Carol, Tiffany and Dee.
A funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Burning Baptist Church, 2195 Burning Bush Rd,
Ringgold, GA 30736, with Rev. Dennis McNulty, Colin Crosen, and Dr. Joseph Frejosky officiating. He will lie in state from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral hour on Sunday, February 1. A burial will follow at the church cemetery and the pallbearers will be Randall Lee, Jagger Martin, Brad Wattenbarger, Sam Daigle, Randy Ball, and Bobby Nicholson, with honorary pallbearer, Colin Crosen.
