George M Johnson

George Johnson, the son of Alfred and Alice (Tindall) Johnson, was born on on April 16, 1936. He died on December 12, 2025 at his home in Estherville at the age of 89 years.
George graduated from Terril High School before working at the creamery in Graettinger. George married Barbara Larson on June 14, 1962. The couple moved to Estherville where George worked as a mechanic for John Deere for many years, retiring in 2016.
In his free time, George enjoyed woodworking. He was known for making wren houses, kitchen sets and building things for his family. He also loved to restore tractors, garden and mowing St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery.
George is survived by his wife, Barbara Johnson, daughters, Tammy Kilpatrick and Janine Johnson, grandchildren, Josh (Marisa) Kilpatrick, Travis (Alexis) Kilpatrick, and Katelyn (Keaton) Verner; great-grandchildren, Owen Kilpatrick, Briggs Kilpatrick, Eli Kilpatrick, Tate Kilpatrick, Briar Kilpatrick, Marek Verner, Blake Kilpatrick, and Mila Verner; sisters, Marilyn Ostheimer, and Alice Anne Johnson; and Mrs. Daniel Harvey and family.
He was preceded in death by his son, Bryan Johnson, parents, Alfred and Alice (Tindall) Johnson; son-in-law, Rick Kilpatrick, and his siblings, Frances Mason, Alfred Paul Johnson, Ruth Davis, Robert Johnson and Ronald Johnson.
