George Michael “Mike” Kelley of Troy, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, after an extended illness. Funeral services will be at 11:00am on Friday, March 1, 2023, at Green Hills Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Hayes officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Hepzibah Cemetery with Chris Lowery, David McWhorter, Charlie Rawls, George Rea, Grant Rea, and Josh Roberson serving as pallbearers. Mike grew up in Eufaula, Alabama, and attended Eufaula High School and Sparks Technical College in the electronics field. He served a short time in the Alabama National Guard and was employed by Bellsouth for over 30 years. Upon retirement, Mike worked with Alabama Sport Fish and traveled around delivering fish. He loved meeting new folks and seeing new places. He enjoyed the great outdoors-- hunting, fishing, riding the tractor, or just shooting the breeze with one of his tall tales! His grandkids were some of his favorite folks, and one could find him by the grill or smoker cooking up some of his best for his family. He was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him.
Loving survivors include his devoted wife of 38 years, Pam Kelley; children, Adam Kelley (Amy), Anna Lowery (Chris); daughter-in-love, Angie Roberson (Josh); grandchildren, Laney Rawls (Charlie), Hunter Kelley, Gracie Lowery, Asa Lowery, Levi Lowery; sister, Patricia Rea; brother-in-law, Bruce McGinty (Jessie); sister-in-law, Rita Norris; nephew, George Rea; nieces, Tera McWhorter (David), Sarah Bailey (Chris); and special friend, Charlotte Blumentritt. He was preceded in death by his parents, F.M. & Catherine Kelley.
