George Donald Kepler Jr.

State College, Pennsylvania - George Donald Kepler, Jr. 83, of State College died Sunday, October 5, 2025, at home.
Born November 12, 1941, in Goldsboro, North Carolina, he was the son of the late George Donald Kepler and Elizabeth (Betsy) Heyward Kepler. He married Anne (Herpel) Kepler on December 30, 1982, who survives.
George graduated from State College Area High School in 1959. He then received a bachelor's degree from Penn State in 1963. While at Penn State, he joined the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and has been a lifelong supporter of the organization. Following graduation, he began a career in sales with IBM in New Jersey. George also served in the United States Army Reserves from 1966-1972. Later, he returned to State College and changed directions to real estate where he spent many years finishing his career as an independent broker and appraiser. Back home, George was a member of the congregation at Pine Hall Lutheran Church.
George was an avid hunter, fly fisherman, and golfer. He was a longstanding member of the Bear Hollow Hunting Club in Lycoming County and Centre Hills Country Club in State College. He spent many years fly fishing on the streams of Pennsylvania and around the country and was a regular participant in the annual "On the Fly" flyfishing tournament benefiting the Centre County Youth Services Bureau.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children: Randall S. Kepler,
R. Douglas Kepler and his wife Tammy, Brianne E. Lippert and her husband William, and George D. Kepler III and his wife Kelsey Leonard. George leaves behind three loving siblings: his brother Robert J. Kepler and his wife Ruth, his sister Victoria K. Didato and her husband Vince, and his brother Richard I. Kepler and his wife Paige. His memory will be carried by his grandchildren, Grace and Francis Lippert, along with numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother John M. Kepler and his grandson Samuel J. Kepler.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 25 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with a short memorial service to follow at the Koch Funeral Home.
Pine Hall Lutheran Church will host a celebration of life and social time immediately after the service.
