George Stanley Kneeshaw, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home on January 5, 2024. He was born on June 13, 1932, in Bradenton, FL to the late Ronald and Avanelle Kneeshaw. He was known by his middle name, Stanley.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Avanelle Kneeshaw; and sons, Gregory Scott Kneeshaw, and Alton Stanley Kneeshaw.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Louise "Sally" Kneeshaw. They were married for 70 1/2 years. Together they built a life filled with love and cherished memories. He is also survived by one granddaughter, Sarah Ann Kneeshaw Ariyanfar; a daughter-in-law, Jessica Kneeshaw; several cousins; and his friends.
Throughout his life, Stanley demonstrated exceptional dedication and courage during his military service as a Corporal in the Army. His commitment to serving his country was admirable and exemplified his strong sense of duty.
He worked more than 34 years in the family business; selling, distributing and servicing all kinds of batteries both wholesale and retail. Stanley and his father built the battery shop they operated from. He took over the business when his Dad died suddenly from a massive heart attack at the age of 52. He cared for his Mom even after she retired as well as his wife and two sons.
After the battery business was phased out, Stanley became a Park Ranger in Vermont for six years, working in two different parks with his wife running the office.
While George's family mourns his loss, they find comfort in the memories they shared with him over the years.
A memorial will be held on Thursday, April 18th, 2024 at 1:30 PM at Coosa Methodist Church. Interment will follow at the church cemetery with military honors and special bagpipers. Refreshments will be served in the church fellowship hall for everyone.
