George M. Koski

1947 - 2026

George M. Koski, 78, rural Grand Rapids, died Thursday, February 5, 2026, in Duluth.

Born February 24, 1947, in Duluth, he was the son of Earnest W. and Lorraine (Halladay) Koski. A lifelong resident of Itasca County, George was a 1966 graduate of Greenway High School where he excelled as a wrestler. He was a custodian at the Saw Mill Inn for many years, a member of the Grand Rapids VFW and honor guard, and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and camper. George served in the U.S. Army in Korea during the Viet Nam war. His parents, Earnest and Lorraine Koski and siblings, Laverne Kenyen, Eugene Koski, and Lorin Koski preceded him in death.

Survivors include his siblings, Sandra Lambert, Donald Koski, and Allen Koski.

There will be a gathering of family and friends on Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM military honors in the Peterson Funeral Chapel of Coleraine. Interment will be in the Itasca - Calvary Cemetery in Grand Rapids.
