George Kruichuk, 97, of Middleburg Heights, OH passed away on September 24, 2025, with his family by his side at Southwest General Hospital. George attended Rhodes High School and served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1948. George married Mary Ann (Dolly)Soukup on October 9, 1950, and shared 75 years of love and companionship.

George is survived by his wife and children Joseph (Donna) and Delaine Rogers (Raymond) his 3 grandchildren Rebecca Smejkal (Scott), Stephanie Premura (Tony) and Stacie and 2 great grandchildren Hunter and Scarlett Smejkal. George was preceded by his parents Stephen and Tecla (Cherepaniuck) and siblings Helene, Maxine, Sophie, Mike, Nick and Joseph, who was the first Clevelander killed July 1950 in the Korean War. George had a love for wrestling and wrestled in the 105lb class while in high school. George won the Northeastern A.A.U. 108lb crown in 1946, he went to the Olympic tryouts in 1948 as a 126 pounder and placed 3rd. George eventually went into boxing and joined the Golden Gloves in Cleveland. He had an amateur boxing record with 74 wins and 6 losses between the years of 1952-59. George was inducted into the International Boxers Hall of Fame in 1999. George worked for TLC Beverage Distributors from 1951-1962 and Beverage Distributors from 1962-90. George was a proud member of the Teamsters Local #293.

Busch Funeral Home and Crematory are taking care of the arrangements where a Private Service will be held. A Celebration of Life luncheon will held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, www.stjudes.org.

George will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
