George Howard Langenbrunner was born on February 21, 1947, in Lebanon, Ohio. He passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025, in West Chester, Ohio, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, humor, and devotion to family.
George dedicated his professional life to providing for his loved ones as a Telephone Repairman with United Telephone Company, which later became SPRINT. His commitment to his family was palpable, as he worked tirelessly to ensure their well-being. A proud graduate of Kings Mills High School, George's tenacity and work ethic greatly impacted those around him.
In addition to his professional contributions, George exhibited a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, particularly through woodworking. His creations, including toolboxes destined to become cherished family heirlooms, reflect not only his skill but also his desire to leave a lasting mark on his loved ones. He enjoyed learning about history, particularly the Civil War, and he took pride in visiting significant sites such as Gettysburg.
George was also a military veteran, having served in the United States Navy. His strength of character was complemented by a warm and engaging spirit; he had a great sense of humor and an endearing stubbornness that made him beloved by many. He took great joy in sharing his "Pride and Joy" with unsuspecting individuals, a testament to his playful personality.
George's proudest accomplishments stem from the family he and his late wife Sonia (nee Hoffmann) Langenbrunner built together. He leaves behind his cherished son, Steve Langenbrunner, as well as his sister, Jyce Langenbrunner, and brothers, Fr. Norman Langenbrunner and Richard (Mary Ann) Langenbrunner. He is also survived by his niece, Crystal Doty.
George was preceded in death by his beloved wife Sonia, and his parents, Ralph and Grace (nee Peters) Langenbrunner. He also mourned the loss of his nephew, Ricky Langenbrunner.
Visitation will be held in Howie's honor on December 18, 2025, from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Mueller Funeral Home, located at 6791 Tylersville Rd, Mason, OH, 45040.
