George was born January 13, 1954, in Mohawk, WV, a son of the late Anthony and Hazel Sara Hopson Lester. George worked for the Norfolk Southern Railroad, retiring in 2007.
In addition to his parents, Anthony and Hazel Lester, George was preceded in death by one sister and five brothers.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Judy Lester of the home; one son, Shannon Lester and companion Jonathan Griffin of the home; one sister, Agnes Toone; three brothers, Charles, Ralph, and Richard Lester; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In honoring the wishes of the deceased his body has been cremated and there will be no services.
Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger is assisting the family.
