George R. Lloyd, a cherished figure in the Cincinnati community, peacefully passed away on September 27, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on June 30, 1945, in Cincinnati, Ohio, George's life was characterized by his warmth, generosity, and dedication to both his family and career.
George proudly served as a Sales Manager at Hanover Shoes, where his charismatic personality and keen business acumen served him well. He was not only respected in his professional endeavors but also admired for his ability to connect with others, fostering long-lasting relationships throughout his life.
Education played a significant role in George's life; he graduated from high school and further pursued an Associates Degree in college. This foundation supported his drive to excel in his career and serve as a model of diligence and determination for his family.
An enthusiastic sports fan, George found joy in college football and basketball. His passions extended beyond sports, as he loved playing cards and engaging in board games, activities that often brought his family together. He delighted in spending time with his family, especially his cherished grandchildren, Samantha and Zachary Schwartz. George had an incredible ability to uplift others, often making people laugh and smile through his infectious humor and easygoing nature.
In his personal life, George was the devoted husband to Nelba Lloyd (nee Tavares Valero) for an incredible 47 years, a relationship marked by love and companionship. He was also a proud father to Michele Schwartz (Matthew) Schwartz.
George's legacy will continue through his living family members: his wife Nelba, his daughter Michele, and his grandchildren, Samantha and Zachary. He is also survived by his sisters, Audrey Lewis and Mary Jo (Jim) Perkins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Francis Lloyd, as well as his brothers Lester, Earl, John, Clem, and the sisters Edna Metz, Katherine Pennyton, and Albertha Edna Andrews.
A visitation will be held at Vitt, Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home Delhi in Cincinnati, Ohio, on October 2, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at noon. Interment will take place at St. Joseph New Cemetery at 12:45 PM.
George R. Lloyd’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, as an emblem of laughter, love, and kindness.
