George Phillip Martin

George Phillip Martin, of London, Kentucky, was born on September 29, 1958, in Jefferson County, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Robert Samuel Martin and Susan Devasier Martin. He was united in marriage to his beloved wife, Louise Southard Martin, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by his four children: George Thomas Martin and wife April of Florence, Kentucky; Jessica Louise Steel and husband Kaleb of London; Paul Phillip Martin and wife Erika of Arizona; and Anita Morton and husband Dean of Lexington, Kentucky. He is also survived by two siblings, Ruth Martin and Robert Samuel "Bob" Martin II, both of Corbin, Kentucky. George leaves behind eleven grandchildren whom he dearly loved, along with a host of other family members and friends who mourn his passing.

George had a deep love for the outdoors and especially enjoyed grilling and spending time with his family at the cabin and pond he built as a retirement haven for himself and his wife. He was a devoted fan of University of Kentucky basketball and proudly "bled blue," never missing a chance to cheer on the Wildcats.

George Phillip Martin departed this life on Monday, March 30, 2026, at the age of 67 years, 6 months, and 1 day.

A celebration of life for George Phillip Martin will be held by the family at a later date.
