On Wednesday November 12, 2025, George Ann McCoy, 75, of Clinton, Maryland peacefully moved on to be with the Lord. George was lovingly known to family and friends as “Georgie”.

George was born on December 19, 1949, in Burnsville, West Virginia, to the late Hartwell and Cleo Mattox. She was the fifth child blessed to this Union; Albert, James, Carrie and Doris.

George was a woman of grace, strength, and unwavering kindness. She lived a full and joyful life marked by her love for family, faith, and adventure. She also dedicated her life to her family, and friends. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the comforting aroma of her amazing cooking.

George touched countless lives with her generosity, gentle spirit, and ability to make everyone feel valued. She spent over 42 dedicated years working as a Management Analyst for the Department of Housing and Urban Development before retiring. Outside of her professional life, George was known for her zest for living—she loved to cook, fish, ride motorcycles, dance, play softball and travel. Her energy, warmth, and laughter touched all who knew her.

Above all, George cherished her family and was a devoted mother, stepmother, grandmother, aunt and great-grandmother who found joy in every moment spent with her loved ones.

George is survived by her daughter Temple; son-in-law Henry; son Cleo; stepchildren Michelle and Maynard; granddaughters Iyana, Ivory and Malashia; sister Doris; one great grandson and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

George will be remembered for her loving spirit, strong faith, and the joy she brought to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
