Saddened to have read this today. I remember as sophomores, we exchanged curse words in Hungarian and Italian, as we studied geometry. Later in life I befriended another Hungarian refugee and stunned him with what I had learned from George. May he rest in peace. Frank LaFrazia

George, you demonstrated in every moment that old saw that living well is the best revenge; we whom you've left behind, bereft and deprived of your impish insights, keep your memory as our living model.

We miss you George. There will always be a seat at the table for you on Monday nights.

We could always count on George to make us laugh, smile, and more to the point, THINK, at the Tavern dinner table. Invariably, he'd be the one who -- unlike most of us -- actually had the facts and context in his head to make a genuinely informed observation. He truly blew our minds last October with his stint in a Tavern one-act play that had him performing the role of a befuddled homeowner, set upon by errant Air Bnb guests. It was mind-blowing because it was the first time ANY of us had ever seen George look "befuddled"! He was a treasured voice and member in the club and we will miss him sorely.
