George "Hook" Mock Jr., age 80, of Sardinia, Ohio, passed away on Monday morning, October 13, 2025 at Crestwood Nursing Home in Hillsboro.
He was born October 10, 1945 in Sardinia, Ohio, son of the late George Joseph Mock Sr. and Elizabeth B. (Jett) Mock. On October 21, 1966 he was united into marriage to Dianne (Wallace) Mock.
George had worked for Steel Craft, Western and Southern Life Insurance, and Village of Sardinia. He was a very active member of the community, having been an honorary member of the Sardinia Fire Department and a member of the Sardinia Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
Surviving are his wife, Dianne Mock of Sardinia; son, Tim (Monica) Mock of Sardinia; daughter, Tammy (Fred) Wardlow of Sardinia; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Janie (Mark) Burke of Sardinia; sister-in-law, Rita Mock; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by four sisters: Doris Ann (Hobert) Linkous, Patricia "Hoot" (Ashford) Miller, Cindy Lou (Roy) Tracy, and Mary (Charlie) Watson; three brothers: Robert (Thelma) Mock, Sammy Mock, and Richard "Dub" Mock.
Funeral Services will be held at Sardinia Church of Christ, 7130 Bachman Dr, Sardinia, OH, Thursday, October 16, 2025 at 1:00 pm with Billy Morris officiating. Interment will follow in the Buford Cemetery, Buford, Ohio.
Friends will be received at the church on Thursday from 11:00 am until the time of the services
