George Ceaser Mora - 65 of Merced, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, June 29th. George was born September 12, 1958, in San Bernardino, CA to Raymond and Carmen Mora. He and family relocated to Merced, CA in 1966, he attended local area schools and would go on to graduate from Merced High School in 1977. Immediately following graduation, George went to work for N & S Concrete, where he worked for many years. He would move on, to work for the City of Merced for a short time before beginning his career as a truck driver for Pepsi Co. where he would remain for the next 33 years, until his recent retirement in 2023.
He worked hard throughout his life, but above all, he loved his family and friends. George and his wife Linda shared nearly 50 years together, having first met in 1975 while attending high school together. She and George were married on April 30, 1983, at Our Lady of Mercy Church and welcomed two children: Scott George Mora and Kevin Paul Mora. George and Linda went everywhere together and loved taking random trips to LA to watch their Dodgers play and taking day trips to Chukchansi. They loved going to Hawaii, where they just celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary. George was in his element when he would go to baseball and football games to watch his grandsons play and loved having Sunday night BBQs with his family.
George, known as "Cheech" by many, was a long-time member of the Elks Lodge in Merced, CA where he was involved in anything he could be. He loved putting together his annual "Bike Night" and "Poker Run" for challenged children, never missed a crab feed and loved his Friday night dinners at the Elks. George loved playing golf with his buddies and hanging out at the Elks.
He is survived by his wife Linda, son's: Scott (Amanda) and Kevin (Marissa), granddaughter Scarlett and grandsons: Scotty, Jayce, Kevin, Ayden and Jack. As well as three sisters: Teri, Sylvia and Mickey (Rene), along with three brothers: Steve (Rose), Michael, and Richard (Leslie). Three sisters-in-law: MaryJane (Bobby), Sally (Danny), Diane and Two brothers-in-law: Ben (Donna) and Delfino (Rosie) as well as many nieces and nephews. George is preceded in death by his parents (Raymond and Carmen), brothers: Robert Mora, Raymond Mora and baby Ray and sisters: Mona Pacheco, Bambi Quiroz, Susie Mattos, Patricia Maya and his brother-in-law Todd Wayman.
Funeral Services will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Merced on Wednesday, July17th. Viewing will begin at 10am, the recitation of the rosary will begin at 10:30am, Mass at 11:00am, followed by a graveside service at Calvary Cemetery.

I met George & Linda when I began driving for Yellow Cab. I grew fond of both. George helped me expand my driveway, helped with cleanup after my fence was set on fire, had his guys install drip irrigation, and he also remodeled my bath. The day before he passed we were discussing the remodel of my kitchen. It's hard to believe he's gone. My thoughts and prayers are with Linda and his family. He will be missed!

Just let me start by saying Uncle George was the most generous host. He was always making sure people enjoyed themselves and had enough to eat and drink at his parties. We will miss him and be thinking of him at our family gatherings. Rest in peace Uncle George. You are so loved and missed.
