George Nacon Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services LTD. on Oct. 1, 2025.
George Ralph Nacon, 74, passed away on September 26, 2025, after a life filled with love, curiosity, and strength.
Born and raised in Chicago, George was the beloved son of the late Carolyn and Edward Nacon. A lifelong learner and self-starter, George built a career that spanned more than three decades with the City of Chicago and as a Real Estate Broker. He was deeply proud of the work he did and the people he served.
George's life was about far more than work. He was a man of wide-ranging interests and endless curiosity - a true self-taught scholar with a love for sports, music, books, and collecting. He could talk at length about a novel he just finished, the Chicago teams he never gave up on, or the newest addition to his collection - and always with enthusiasm.
Above all, George was a devoted family man. He shared 53 beautiful years of marriage with his wife and best friend, Gabriele (Newel). Together, they raised three children who carry his wisdom, wit, and heart forward: Marlene (Mike) Bolt, Marcus (Marsha) Nacon, and Jessica (Ralph) Wisniewski.
His greatest joy in later years came from being "Papa" to his five grandchildren: Edward and Grace Nacon, and Olivia, Victor, and Axel Wisniewski. Whether it was cheering at games, offering advice, or slipping them books he thought they'd enjoy, George was always present, always proud.
He was steady, kind, funny in his own way, and full of wisdom.
George leaves behind a legacy of love, integrity, and lifelong curiosity. He will be missed beyond words but remembered in the everyday moments - a great song, a good book, watching the Sunday game.
To honor George, the family invites you to do something he loved: read a good book, listen to your favorite record, spend time with the people who matter most.
