George Nesheim Obituary

George S. Nesheim, 96, of East Hartland, passed away Thursday, February 7, 2013 in Hartford Hospital. Born December 20, 1916, he was a son to the late Andrew and Sophie (Henriksen) Nesheim. He was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, later moving to East Hartland, CT. He was a WWII veteran, serving his country proudly with the U.S. Army. They moved to East Hartland in the mid 40's. George was a carpenter most of his life in the Farmington Valley area, and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his son William Nesheim of East Hartland, CT; daughter Elaine Nesheim of Granby, CT; grandsons Jason and Mathew of Torrington, CT; sister-in-law Laura Skaret; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Ruth M. (Skaret) Nesheim; son Brian Nesheim; and sisters Eleanor Skaret and Agnes Samuelson. He was survived by one sister-in-law, Laura Skaret and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by many family and friends. Calling hours for George will be held on Monday, February 11, 2013 from 4:00-8:00pm at Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook St., Granby. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 12th at 2:00pm at Bethany Lutheran Brethren Church, 116 Walnut Hill Rd., East Hartland, CT with a calling hour one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be in the spring in East Harland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bethany Lutheran Brethren Church Elevator Fund.
