George Emerson Nessler, 94, was born in St. Augustine, Florida on February 25, 1931 and went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 2, 2025 in Jacksonville, Florida.
He served in the US Army from 1951 to 1953 obtaining the rank of Corporal (CPL). He served during the Korean War and received the Occupation Medal (Germany). Following discharge from the military, he began working in the construction field, then began a 30 year career with Civil Service working at Kings Bay. For many years he also had a welding business in Nassau County. He loved spending time with his family and being outside enjoying his fishpond. He was a member and usher at North Jacksonville Baptist Church for many years.
Preceded in death by his parents, Frank & Elsie Nessler, his brother, Frank Nessler, and his brother and sister-in-law, Clyde and Shirley Nessler. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Betty Nessler, and his nieces and nephews.
Graveside shelter service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 20, 2025 at Jacksonville National Cemetery with Dr. Herb Reavis and Rev. Tim Rigdon, officiating. Military Honors by the US Army.
