Mr. George Howard Nickerson, age 71, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away Wednesday morning, August 13, 2025, at his residence. He was born March 13, 1954, in Navasota, Texas (Grimes County), a son of the late Grant Munson and Arzelia
"Shorty" Nickerson.

George graduated from Snook High School, Snook, TX. He played Point Guard for the Bluejays.
After high school and sometime later he relocated to Sweetwater, TX, where he met and married his wife, worked, and raised a family.
George had many professions throughout his life. He worked for the Sweetwater Housing Authority, Walls Workwear, as a Wind Turbine Mechanic, and as a Diesel Mechanic. He enjoyed his family, friends, and going fishing.

George married Barbara M. Jennings, June 10, 1981, in Sweetwater, TX. They had twin sons in 1982, and he helped raise four non-biological children.

George is survived by his twin sons and two daughters-in-law: Royce D. Jennings (wife Yolanda S. Jennings) and George J. Jennings (wife Josie S. Jennings) of Sweetwater, TX.

Forever cherished and remembered by their children-his six grandchildren Nevaeh, Samaria, Lavonna, Eionna, Jazmine, and Devon Jennings.

George is also survived by his five Siblings, brothers: Richard Huddlen (Becky) and Reginald Nickerson, sisters: Marilyn Contee Jones (Ira), Ann Gorgia Huddlen, and Melonie Nickerson, and their families; stepson: Mathes D. Jennings (Tawanna); stepdaughters: Remona J. and Mary A. Jennings, and Tamesha M. Clayton; additional 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, In-Laws, and Friends.

George is predeceased by his wife of 42 years Barbara M. Jennings, his parents, (2) brothers Leonard and Gerald Nickerson, and (3) sisters Yvonne Munson Huddlen, Earline and Pearline Nickerson.
