O'Malley, George R. of West Roxbury, 84, formerly of Jamaica Plain and Oughterard, County Galway IRELAND, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2022.

Beloved husband of Philomena (Conneely) O'Malley with whom he shared 61 years of marriage. Proud father of John R. O'Malley, Nora M. Woods and George M. O'Malley. Respected father-in-law of Joe Woods and Carrie O'Malley and loving grandfather (Papa) to Alexis P. O'Malley, Katherine O'Malley & Jennifer O'Malley. Cherished brother of Frances Carter, Jack O'Malley, Thomas O'Malley, Mary Martin, Patricia Curran (deceased), Margaret (Peg) Derenzy, Jerry O'Malley, James O'Malley, Ruth O'Malley and Ann Faherty. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

George served as foreman at the Forest Hills Cemetery for 46 years before he retired. He was known for his compassion, kindness, sense of humor and an unmatched work ethic.

Those who knew George know how much he loved his family and always put them first.

George loved cheering for the Bruins, gardening, family dinners and found joy every day in the simple things in life.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours in the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre Street West Roxbury on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at 9:30am - 11:00 am, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Theresa Church, West Roxbury at 11:30 am. Burial will follow at the Forest Hills Cemetery, Jamaica Plain.
