George K. Paliath

George K. Paliath was born in Kerala, India. Beloved son of Koruthu and Annamma Jacob. Devoted husband of Elsie G. Paliath nee George. Loving father of Pradip, Jacob, Sebastian, and Dilip, and father-in-law to Mary, Tracey, and Sonya. Proud grandfather of Thomas, Vijay, Hannah, Moss, Royce, and Sadie, and grandfather-in-law to Sonia. Loving brother to Annamma Joseph, Marykutty Thomas, Joyamma Samuel, Rajamma Kunjappan, Banker George, Jacob Rajan, the late Podiyamma Daniel, and the late Jacob John. Loving uncle to many.
George came to the United States in 1969 on a teacher's visa. He had been an established teacher in India, teaching at the prestigious St. Columba's School in New Delhi. He received the National Physics Award. Among other notable accomplishments, he tutored Indira Gandhi's children. Upon coming to the United States, George spent a brief time in Vermont before coming to Maryland in 1969. He taught in the Baltimore City Public School System for approximately twenty-seven years. He taught physics, calculus, chemistry, and other subjects in various public schools. In addition, he was a MENSA mentor. George was also a volunteer at Stella Maris for many years. He worked a second job at night for Bell Atlantic, and he prepared tax returns on the weekends for numerous years.
The family will be receiving friends at Ruck Funeral Home, 1050 York Rd, Towson, MD 21204 on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 from 4:00-7:00 PM. Funeral service will be on Friday, June 21, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Parish, 100 Church Lane, Cockeysville, MD 21030. Burial is private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Paliath Scholarship Fund at Calvert Hall College High School, 8102 LaSalle Road, Towson, MD or to Catholic Charities, 320 Cathedral Street, Baltimore, MD,
