George M. Parnell Jr. went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 3, 2026.
George was born in Crewsville, Florida, the oldest child of George M. Parnell Sr. and Lula Gribbons Parnell. From an early age, he developed a deep love for the land and a strong work ethic that would define his life. George proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1962 to 1967. His time in service reflected the same discipline, integrity, and sense of duty that guided him throughout his life. Following his military service, George devoted his life to the land as a rancher and citrus grower. He faithfully stewarded his livestock and property and lived out his calling as a servant of the Lord. Above all, he was a loving husband and a man who deeply cherished his family. His life was a reflection of faith, humility, and unwavering commitment to those he loved.
George was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Buddy Parnell; and his loving previous wives, Patsy Perez Parnell and Vicky Lipman Parnell.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Debra H. Parnell; his sister, Joan P. Evans (Joe); and a large extended family including many children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who will carry forward his legacy of faith, service, hard work, and love.
Services will be held at Crewsville Bethel Baptist Church on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Crewsville Bethel Baptist church, 8251 Crewsville Road, Zolfo Springs, FL 33890.
George will be remembered for his steadfast devotion to God, his love of the land, his honorable military service, and the quiet strength with which he lived his life. He leaves behind a legacy rooted in faith and family that will endure for generations.
