George Richard Passmore Jr. September 1, 1953 - August 12, 2025
Services for George Richard Passmore Jr., 71, of Thomasville, will be held Saturday, August 16, at First Newark Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Steve Brooks officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Tobie Passmore, Brannon Passmore, Cole McMillan, Colby McMillan, Morgan Myers, and Bobby Lowe.
Mr. Passmore passed away peacefully on August 12 at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare in Tallahassee, Florida. He was born September 1, 1953, to the late George Richard Passmore Sr. and Seville Chancey Passmore. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joann Carrano Passmore.
He is survived by his brothers, David Passmore of Atlanta and Roy Passmore (Cynthia) of Thomasville; his sister, Linda Passmore Johnson (Ronald) of Thomasville; and niece and nephews Laura Johnson, Tobie Passmore, Dana Passmore, and Brannon Passmore and many great nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graduate of Thomasville High School, Mr. Passmore proudly served in the United States Air Force and later in the Air National Guard. He was an active member of the local radio club and had a lifelong passion for traveling, collecting vintage audio equipment and working with electronics.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Thomasville Humane Society in his memory.
