Phil Passmore was born in San Bernardino, CA, on March 26th, 1945, and is survived by his wife Diana of 60 years; his sons Brandon and Ronald; his grandchildren, Joshua, Cody, and Jackson; his daughters-in-law, Lynelle and April; and his brothers and sister, Roy, Jesse, and Mary Lou. Phil was preceded in death by his youngest son, Eddie Jay.
Phil graduated from Shadle Park High School in 1965. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and, ironically, received his draft notice just three days later. Phil's service lasted from 1966 to 1967, and he was a helicopter crew chief, gunner, and received numerous awards, including 11 Air Medals. Phil served in the 10th Air Cavalry and fought in the Central Highlands area of Vietnam.
Phil was a complex man and had many interests. Family, music, and West Texas BBQ were just a few of his passions. Diana often says Phil was quite a joke teller and a prankster. Phil ultimately went on to a career in malting and barley blending with Great Western Malting and supplied malt and barley blends to names such as, Anheuser Busch, Sierra Nevada, and Redhook Brewing.
Phil died from complications of bladder cancer because of continued exposure to Agent Orange while in Vietnam. Phil fought the good fight till the end, and he passed surrounded by his family.
A service will be held at the Medical Lake Veterans Cemetery in March of 2026.

I knew Phil and Diana as neighbors down the alley. Then we quickly became good friends. From bobcating snow out the alley to fixing there sprinklers Phil always treated me with kindness and respect. I knew Phil was in Vietnam but never talked about it. He always had a beer for me. I am so sorry about Phil's passing. Phil was more than a great man. He was my friend. If you need anything Diana my new number is 509 590 3845. Going to miss you big guy. 454 I salute you sir. Daniel Jeffries
