George Marcel Pratte, 84, of Manchester, passed away peacefully July 15, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Manchester on February 3, 1941, to Leopold and Angeline (Harbour) Pratte, he grew up on the West Side of Manchester and graduated from Bishop Bradley High School, before joining the U.S. Air Force. It was not long after that, he met the love of his life, Helen and they married and settled in Manchester to raise their two girls close to family and friends.
George worked for Verizon as a Special Services Technician, before retiring in 1997. He is remembered by his coworkers as an excellent technician and a gentleman. He had the rare gift of truly enjoying his occupation. He cherished time with his family and enjoyed attending or hearing about the grandchildren’s activities and accomplishments and often capturing the moments with his camera. During retirement he enjoyed traveling, working on projects and often helping others, maintaining their motor home, and gardening. While George enjoyed sharing stories about his work and leisure activities, he was always interested to hear about other people’s adventures, work and hobbies and made it a point to make people smile or laugh in each interaction. George will be remembered for his patience, manners, problem solving skills, and his sweet demeanor.
George was predeceased by his parents Leopold and Angeline Pratte. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Helen of 58 years, Karen and Leo Charron and Leigh-Ann and Kevin Russell. He also leaves behind four wonderful grandchildren; Noah Charron, Megan Charron, Sophia Russell and Oliver Russell.
