George H. Ringler Sr.

George H. Ringler, Sr., 91, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026, at his residence following an extensive illness.

George was born in Bedford County, Pennsylvania, the only son of the late Harry James and Mary Rebecca Dermer Ringler. He was a member of Christ the Servant Lutheran Church since 2011.

He is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Irene Duppstadt, Helen Lafferty, and Pearline Brooks.

Surviving him are his loving and devoted wife of 70 years, Darlene Cook Ringler; Daughters, Gail L. Ringler Houlihan, and Sandy Ringler Miller (Dennis); Son, George H. Ringler, Jr; 10 grandchildren, Jayme Long, Jenye Kerns, Craig Ringler, Megan Higgs-Carter, Taylor Quade, J.T. Zell, Shane Houlihan, Damion

Houlihan, Justin Houlihan, and McKenzie Houlihan Viglone; seventeen great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

George was part owner of Hillcrest Heights Exxon in Maryland for 28 years. He retired at the age of 48. Later he worked for Snell and Sons, a vinyl siding company, He retired for the second time in 2000. They sold everything and spent the next 6 years traveling the country in their RV. In 2006 they settled in Conway and George went back to work mowing at The Legends Golf Course. He finally retired for good at 83.

George was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great-great grandfather. He loved camping, golfing, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends. He also loved mowing the lawn at the church, his workshop, his flowers, and working in the yard until he couldn't. George loved his church and singing in the choir. George and his wife Darlene recently renewed their wedding vows, in front of family and close friends to celebrate 70 years of marriage.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Christ the Servant Lutheran Church. Entombment will follow in the church columbarium, directed by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services, from 2 to 3 at the church.
