Obituary of George Charles Rivell
George Charles Rivell, 93, of West Deptford, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 14, 2024.
Legacy
He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. A graduate of Paulsboro High School Class of 1948. He played basketball and baseball for Paulsboro, the starting point guard of the runner up team in the State Championship in 1948. George was a proud member of the United States Army and served during the Korean War. He worked for Dupont in Gibbstown, NJ for 30 years. He was a member of the Mason's.
Family
He is the beloved husband of 68 and "a half" wonderful years to Rebecca M. Rivell (nee Bates). Devoted father of George (Katherine) Rivell, Debra Ann (late Robert) Damminger, Eric Rivell, and Ken (late Vicki) Rivell. Treasured grandfather of Geoffrey, Graig (Delia), Ryne (Rose), Alexis (Amber), and Kim. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Farewell Tribute
He was laid to rest with military honors at Eglington Cemetery in Clarksboro, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Rowan College Foundation, 1400 Tanyard Road, Sewell, NJ 08080 ATTN: Cody Miller for a scholarship in Robert Damminger's name or visit rcsj.edu/GIVE/Gloucester/DONATE/.
