Maria Antonietta "Toni" Walls

Maria "Toni" Antonietta Galli Walls, age 91, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Corné, Italy, Toni moved to Verona at a young age. While working on an Italian military base, she met the love of her life, Thomas J. Walls, who affectionately called her "Antonia". They married and moved to the United States in 1966, first living in Woodbury before settling in the Oak Valley section of Deptford, where she made her home for 57 years.

Toni worked as a cook at the Woodbury Country Club for three decades, where her warmth and talent in the kitchen became well known. A devoted member of Infant Jesus Parish–St. Margaret's Church, she formed many cherished friendships and lovingly knitted hundreds of scarves, mittens, and Christmas stockings for the parish community and family.

Proud of her Italian heritage, Toni found joy in preparing homemade pasta and hosting family dinners - especially Christmas, where she delighted in gathering everyone together over a prosecco or an espresso martini. Toni found the greatest joy in her grandchildren, who affectionately called her Nonna and meant everything to her. She delighted in every moment spent with them and the special bond they shared. She would always say "La famiglia é tutto" (Family is everything).

Toni also enjoyed playing cards with friends, especially pinochle, and she will be remembered for her generosity, her humor, and the love she poured into every part of her life.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Walls, parents Lina and Vigilio Galli, and 3 siblings.

Survived by her children, Mickey (Claudia) Walls, Paolo (Krista) Walls, Daniela (Michele) Caliari, grandchildren Heather (Brad), Michael Jr. (Danielle), Amanda, Elena, Alex, Sofia, Alessia, 14 great-grandchildren, and siblings Albino Galli and Irene Caldana, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and family.

Friends may greet the family after 10 am on Friday, February 20, 2026, in St. Bridget University Parish, 125 Church St, Glassboro, NJ. Funeral mass will be at 11 am. Interment Gloucester County Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.
