Thomas B. Bowe

Thomas B. Bowe, 78, of Woodbury, passed away on March 4, 2026. Born and raised in Woodbury, Tom remained a lifelong resident deeply committed to his hometown. He graduated from Bishop Eustace Preparatory School in 1965 and earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from LaSalle University.

Tom began his teaching career at St. James High School in Chester, Pennsylvania. In 1972, he joined the faculty of Woodbury High School where he taught until 1977, and then continued his career at St. Joseph's Preparatory School in Philadelphia. He retired from St. Joseph's in 1993. From 1983 to 1985, he also taught part-time at St. Joseph's University.

In 1993, Tom began a second career as the City Administrator for Woodbury, a role he held until his retirement in 2011. During that time, Tom was instrumental in organizing the millennial celebration with Woodbury's sister city, Bury, England that brought over 400 people from England to Woodbury. Tom was also a passionate basketball coach. He led the Woodbury High School Boys Basketball Team for many seasons and helped found the Woodbury Youth Basketball program, leaving a lasting legacy in the community he loved. He was also a longtime member of the Woodbury Country Club.

Tom is survived by his wife of 53 years, Susan B. (Crowley); his children Megan Lucidi (George), Thomas Joshua Bowe, Luke Patrick Bowe (Kristine), and Jacob Henry Bowe (Helen); and his cherished grandchildren Arianna, Lily, Audrey, Evelyn, Penelope, Lisette, Mary, and Thomas Henry. He is also survived by his sister, Victoria Godwin (Jeff), and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to greet the family beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Budd Funeral Home, 522 Salem Ave., Woodbury, NJ.
