Barbara Moore Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Budd Funeral Home on Feb. 28, 2026.
Barbara E Weakland Moore

Mar 09, 1936 – Feb 26, 2026

Barabra Elaine Moore (Bobbie) of Woodbury Heights, NJ passed away on Feb 26, 2026, just 11 days shy of her 90th birthday, peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Edward C Moore Sr. with whom she shared over 60 years of marriage before his passing in 2018. Bobbie is survived by her sons Edward Moore (Suzanne), Michael Moore, Frank Moore (Terri) and David Moore, Daughters, Dawn Moore Albert (James) and Deana Moore (Ann) and 6 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren.

Born in Portage Twp., Cambria Co. Pa, Bobbie was the daughter of the late Charles Weakland and the late Mable Moyer Weakland. During her school years, Bobbie enjoyed learning to cook and bake with her mother and took great pleasure spending time with her father learning to work on cars and other machinery, which she passed down to her children. While working at Clifton Heights Precision, Bobbie met her future husband Edward and they married in 1957.

After their marriage, Bobbie was eager to start a family, wanting 12 children, but happily settled on four boys and twin girls. Bobbie was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and was fondly known as Me-Mom. She stayed deep rooted in our lives to ensure her family was well taken care of. She raised her family and worked at Woodbury Heights Elementary school as a Lunch Aide and crossing guard from 1978 to 1985. Also, in the mid 80's, she was part of the Woodbury Heights Athletic Club coaching the girls basketball team and boys baseball team. She also took a position to supervise a local shoe store in Woodbury Heights from 1987 to 1989 (The Shoe Inn). Bobbie's biggest passion was cooking and baking, thanks to her mother's guidance. This passion led her to a position down the shore cooking and prepping food at the Deauville Inn from 1994 to 2001, when she finally retired from the work force.

,

Bobbie was a hard-working strong-willed woman who will be sadly missed by family and friends. Bobbie loved all of her family, dogs, working on cars and other equipment and had a true green thumb who could nurture any plant in poor health back to life.

"Say not in grief 'she is no more' but in thankfulness that she was."

The Moore family will be celebrating Bobbie's life and legacy at Budd Funeral Home 522 Salem Avenue, Woodbury NJ 08096, on Saturday, March 7th, 2026, where friends may greet the family from 1:30-3:30pm. A Celebration of Life will be at 3:30pm.
