Michael K. Chambers

Michael K. Chambers, 59, passed away on January 29, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Northeast Philadelphia,Mike was a proud graduate of St. Joseph's Preparatory High School, Class of 1984. He went on to attend Lycoming College, where he played football for two years before transferring to Temple University to pursue his Bachelors degree.

Mike began his career in media distribution, working with several newspapers throughout the Philadelphia and New Jersey area. For the past three years, he served as the Meal Distribution Center Manager for the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging, a role in which he took great pride.

As a passionate coach, Mike dedicated many years to coaching football at St. Joe's Prep and at various Philadelphia Archdiocesan high schools, allowing him to positively impact the lives of many young athletes.

His great affection for dogs showed in the care and attention that he showered on his other "girls": Belle, Sadie, and Molly.

But above all else, Mike's greatest joy and accomplishment was his family. He cherished every moment spent with his wife and daughters.

Mike is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jessica (Murphy), his daughters, Abigail and Emma Chambers, his sisters, Kathleen (Andrew) Pagano, and Maureen (Greg) McEntee, along with nieces and nephews, recently nicknamed "Munca Mike" by his youngest nephews. He is also lovingly remembered by his extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Grace (Casparro) and Edward "Mickey" Chambers.

Friends may greet the family after 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 8, 2026, in the Budd Funeral Home, 522 Salem Avenue, Woodbury, NJ. A Celebration of Mike's life will be at 3:00 p.m. Interment will be private at the family's convenience.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Michael K. Chambers can be made to the Colorectal Cancer Research Fund at the Abramson Cancer Center at Penn Medicine. Checks should be made payable to "Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania" and mailed to Penn Medicine Development, Attn: Therese Marmion, 3535 Market St., Ste. 750, Phila., PA. 19104.
