George J. Roff

Roff, George J. departed this physical life and entered into eternal life on Feb. 22, 2025. Born August 3, 1946 to George E. and Marion Roff. Raised in Somers Point and attended local schools, graduating from the Mainland Regional Class of 1965. After working various jobs he enlisted into the U.S. Airforce. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam, exiting the military with an honorable discharge and earning the rank of Sergeant. After his service he began his career as an apprentice carpenter and became a member of the Carpenters Local 623. He traveled several years to work on the Salem Power Plant in NJ. He then joined his fellow construction workers in building new casinos when Atlantic City got approval for casino gambling. He and his dad, also a union carpenter, built his home in Northfield where his family still resides. George was a proud American raising his flag each day on his property. He was an active member of the VFW post 911 of Somers Point, NJ. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and many ski trips with family and friends in the Poconos and Vermont. George is survived by his devoted wife, Marie, of 51 years; his son, Dennis and his wife, Robin of Cape Coral, FL; his daughter, Jaime; and his grandson, Liam. He is predeceased by his father, George E. and his mother, Marion and his sister, Pat.

A visitation will be held Friday Feb. 28, 2025, from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by a service at 11 a.m., at Adams-Perfect Funeral Homes, Inc. 1650 New Road Northfield, NJ 08225. Interment will follow at The Richard E Squires Veterans Cemetery Estell Manor, NJ .
