George F. Sklena

George F. Sklena, age 95, of Skokie, retired electrician, died Saturday, July 19, 2025, at his residence. Devoted son of the late Matthias and Lena, née Halas, Sklena, he was born October 25, 1929, in Chicago.
Beloved husband of the late Mildred, née Heim; dear father of Janet Staackmann, Lorraine (David) Knitter, Susan (Richard) Munda, David (Mary), and Richard (Michelle); loving papa of Melissa (Kevin) Farin, Cari (Dave) Carlino, Gina (Jay) Hawkins, Angela (Ron) Carlstrom, Lisa (Alvaro) Johnson, Jillian (Brad) Samul, Juliette Munda, Brian (Zora) Sklena, Jamie (Brian) Esmon, Matthew (Chelsea) Knitter, Brett, Jake (fiancée, Hannah), Connor, and Ashley Sklena; cherished great-papa of 19. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Visitation, Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 4 to 8 p.m., at HABEN Funeral Home & Crematory, 8057 Niles Center Rd., Skokie.
Family and friends to meet for Mass of Christian Burial, Friday, July 25, at 10 a.m., at St. Lambert Church of Ss. Peter & Lambert Catholic Parish, 8148 Karlov Ave., Skokie.
Interment, Maryhill Catholic Cemetery, Niles.
