George David Smith, 69, native of Myrtle Beach, SC unexpectedly went to be with the Lord on July 5, 2024, due to heart failure. He loved and cherished his wife, Wanda Jean Smith of 47 years and is survived by him. He was the son of Albert Lee Smith and Georgia Pearline Tompkins who preceded him in death.
He is currently survived by his son Eric Smith and grandson, Chase Zapata-Smith. Additional family members are his brothers: Wilbur Smith, Donnie Smith, Randal Smith (Little John), Daniel Smith (Big John).
Mr. Smith was a long-time employee of AVX, Inc. of Myrtle Beach, SC. He was loved by many in his lifetime. He was a devoted husband and father who served countless foster children and neighbors with his generous heart of gold. He was a doting uncle and grandpa who was quick to entertain with silly jokes or comfort with warm hugs. His gentle spirit allowed room in his heart and home for anyone (or animal) in need. He was a true example of Christ-like servitude who will be dearly missed until we meet him again in Glory.
Visitation for the family will be on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at 3:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 pm. The Smith family is in the care of:
