George found peace and rest on April 15, 2022, at the age of 88 in his home in San Leandro, CA. George is the son of Konstantinos and Maria Sofos. He was born and raised in Kremasti, Lakonia, Greece. In 1963, George married Maria Legakis and had their first child Konstantina. In 1967 the three left Kremasti and found the open arms of America, where they began the next chapter of their life. The George and Maria together in love expanded their family in America with two more children, Penny and Gus. George's focus in life was to care for his family and provide for them in a simple yet bountiful way. He loved his homeland of Kremasti more than words could describe and enjoyed the art of making his homemade wine that he shared with the ones he loved.
George is survived by his wife Maria, his children – Dina & Mike Zervogiannis, Penny Sofou, and Gus & Stacy Sofos, grandchildren – Marianna, Yanni, Demetra & George.
