Kalliopi Sofos

Kalliopi, 92, passed away on Friday, November 4th at Valley Hospital. She has joined her lifelong husband and partner, Stelios Sofos, whom she had missed everyday since his passing. She will be buried in the hearts of her four daughters, Effie Sofos Georgiadis, Irene Sofos, Maria Sofos Demos, and Dina Sofos Rainey, who will carry her generous spirit forward.
Kalliopi's hands were always moving, always giving. With her hands, she raised her eight grandchildren, Kallie and Christopher Georgiadis, Niki and Dimitri Demos, Stelio and Anthony DiSilvio, and Kristina and Dimitri Rainey. She peeled apples and pears when they were hungry, stitched the holes in their sweaters when they were cold. She cooked meals that never needed more lemon or salt; that no one else could seem to get right. " " we would say. Bless your hands.
All who knew Kalliopi knew that she led with love and compassion: she would smile when she saw others smile; she would sympathize for birds shivering in the snow. We imagine her now at the side of her husband and her siblings, and we will be forever comforted by the warmth of her unwavering love.
Family will receive friends on Monday November 7, 2022 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm & - St. Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church at 51 Paramus Road in Paramus, NJ. Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Monday November 7, 2022, at the St. Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church, Paramus, NJ. Interment George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ.
