It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Katherine Crossan, beloved aunt, great-aunt, and educator, who peacefully left us on August 14, 2025, at the age of 94.

Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, on November 22, 1930, Katherine was a lifelong member of the community. She earned a Master's degree in Education from Jersey City State University and dedicated her career to teaching, spending over 40 years as a kindergarten teacher in Paramus, New Jersey. Her gentle nature and love for her students left a lasting impact on all those who were fortunate enough to learn from her.

Katherine was a devoted parishioner at Our Lady of the Visitation R.C. Church in Paramus, where she was an active member of the Rosary Society and sang in the choir. She also took pride in being a member of the Teresians, an organization she held dear throughout her life.

Outside of her professional and spiritual commitments, Katherine was a woman of many passions. She loved spending time on the water, enjoying boating and water skiing in the Atlantic Ocean and visiting the Jersey Shore. A lover of the arts, Katherine frequently attended Broadway shows and made countless trips to New York City to immerse herself in its vibrant culture. She also loved to travel: some notable adventures included visiting Ireland, Hawaii, Italy, Cuba, England, and Mexico.

Her love for music was evident as she played the piano, a skill that brought her much joy and connected her with others who shared her appreciation for the arts.

Katherine cherished her friendships and had a special bond with her college classmates and lifelong friends, with whom she enjoyed frequent get-togethers. She was also a loving aunt to Mark and TJ, and a proud great-aunt to Lauren, who will all remember her with deep affection and admiration. Kathy also loved her feline and canine companions throughout her life.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, August 17, 2025 from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 South Farview Avenue, Paramus, NJ. Funeral Service will be held at 9:30am on Monday August 18, 2025, at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Visitation R.C. Church 234 N. Farview Avenue Paramus. Interment to follow at Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City, NJ.
