George F. Staib, beloved husband of Cynthia (Arcillas) Staib, died at Danbury Hospital on Monday, May 12th. A lifelong Danbury resident, he was born on November 9, 1949, son of the late Leonard Sr. and Mary (Haffner) Staib.
George was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, proudly serving with the United States Army. He was the recipient of several medals during his service, including the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Gold Stars, and Good Conduct Medal.
He worked for many years as a mail sorter for the United States Postal Service. He loved singing and playing guitar in a band with his family and friends. He loved his morning walks, always dressed in shorts, regardless of the weather.
George was generous, kind-hearted, and had a great sense of humor.
In addition to his wife, Cynthia, he will be missed by his daughter, Christina Staib; and his brother Gary Staib.
A Funeral Service will be held at Walnut Hill Community Church in Bethel on Wednesday, May 21st at 4:00pm.
