George was a husband, a father, a granddad, an uncle, a brother and a son. George Stevens, III of Vero Beach was born September 1, 1950, in Fairbanks, Alaska to parents, George I. Stevens, Jr. and Beatrice Milne Parks. In George's early childhood the family moved to Maryland and had a family farm. There were many happy memories made on the family farm. George later moved to South Florida where his love for aviation and boats really took off.

George attended Pompano Beach High School. Graduated class 1968 and then continued his education at Broward Community College. George also became a paramedic firefighter with Lighthouse Point Fire Department and Rescue in 1972 -1973. George, then moved onto Pompano Beach Fire Department in 1974. George decided in 1982 to put his passion for aviation in the direction of a career George had an aviation career that spanned 4 decades. George's aviation career took him all over the world seeing places, traveling places, and meeting people among the thousands and thousands of hours logged and the millions of millions of miles flown. George also taught his love of flying to others. George flew all kinds of aircraft from Cessnas to Challengers. George later went on to retire from Bombardier Aerospace Flexjet in 2023. George will be known to the industry as an extraordinary, chief pilot and aviator.

In his spare time, George enjoyed boating with his family. Many days out on the lake filled with happy memories and fun events. George also enjoyed going to Kona Hawaii with his wife Barbara.

George departed this world on March 6, 2026, he leaves behind his wife Barbara L. Stevens of Texas; daughter Andrea Nicole Stevens-Cozaya (Jonathan); former wife Susan both of Charlotte, North Carolina; sister Jean E. Hazelhurst and her family of ; Step-children Brad Kutches, Eddie Woodward, and Chrissy Woodward; Granddaughters Chiara and Caryna Cozaya of Charlotte, North Carolina; Grandson Berkeley Woodward of Texas; and Cooper his amazing pup!

Currently, the Family asks for understanding during this difficult time in the passing of our beloved George.
