I was saddened to hear of the passing of my former father-in-law who was passionate about education. He set a fine example, and expected much of the same for his sons. They turned out to be productive, upstanding citizens and fathers themselves. He made the most of life, giving back to his church and community. I am certain he was met by his Lord and saviour who said, "well done my good and faithful servant." My heartfelt condolence goes out to my former mother-in-law, Mary, and to her sons, Marvin, David, Clinton, and Joe.

Dr. Thomas was truly an inspiration to me in the short time I knew him as a Saturday School employee. His smile when he visited Saturday school and love for teaching will truly be missed.

Dear Mary, sons, and " daughters",
We met you and you all at David and Donna's wedding and the night before at my brother Stuart and Irene MacDonald's home. Your family struck me as being a beautiful match to the Mac's, friendly, fun loving and very personable. I'm sure your Dad set the path for much of what the Thomases accomplished and worked to achieve. The Saturday School is brilliant, a work of love and a great legacy and I hope it continues. I'm sorry you lost your dear Dad and husband. Love to you all.

Working with Dr. Thomas on the Stained Glass Committee at Zion Baptist Church was always a first class endeavor. In my capacity as an art consultant, with Dr. Thomas as the project leader, achieving goals set was possible, pleasant, and ultimately successful. A Washingtonian of the Year, George was a giant in educational leadership as well as the steadfast, dedicated, committed church leader. Our condolences to the family. God bless you. We pray God gives you strength and comfort.

To the Thomas family, our deepest sympathy at the passing of Dr. Thomas. It has been a number of years since I have seen any of you and am saddened that this occasion is the reason we are speaking now. I have many great memories of the early days of my life, time primarily spent with the Marvin and Clint. With a house full of 5 boys, I was always impressed with the discipline and respect commanded by Dr and Mrs Thomas from their son's. Dr. Thomas set a high bar in his home as he did in life. The Thomas home was always open and welcoming and many happy moments were shared there.
The prayers from myself and my family go out to Mrs. Thomas and her son's my friends, at the passing of your husband and their father. Although I can't be with you in person, my heart is with you all.
God's blessings to you all,
Dave Lohr and family
