George William Tilkey, a beloved brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at the age of 69. George was born to the late George and Leila (Lenarz) Tilkey on May 25, 1955, in New Philadelphia, Ohio where he resided his entire life.
George was known for his warm heart, generous spirit, and unwavering kindness. He retired from Lauren Manufacturing after over 30 years. He was an avid Buckeyes, Browns, Indians, and Cavaliers fan. George’s kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
He is survived by his five siblings, Thomas Tilkey, Karen (Dave) Mutigli, Robert (Vickie) Tilkey, Michael Tilkey (Sharis), and Debra (John) Mohn; his nieces, Janine Beatty, Lacy (John) Ayers, Cheyenne (Danny) Costantini, and Brianna Tilkey (Tucker); and many special aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
The family will greet guests on Friday, November 22, 2024 from 10 – 11 AM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory. A Memorial Service will follow at 11 AM. An inurnment will take place at a later date in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.
