Michelle Lynn Garretson, age 52, of Newcomerstown, passed away suddenly on Friday, February 13, 2026.
Born in Coshocton, Ohio, on November 10, 1973, she was the daughter of George and Kathy (Robinson) Everhart.
On September 14, 1990 she began dating the love of her life, Jason Garretson. They married on April 29, 1995 and honeymooned in the basement of the home they built together in Newcomerstown. She worked in her parent’s business, Everhart’s Auto, in the early years of her adulthood. She passionately served as the Study Hall Monitor for the students of Newcomerstown High School for the last few years. Michelle saw potential in all her students and genuinely cared for each one, always wanting the best for them.
Michelle loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She truly loved her husband, and exemplified the Proverbs 31 woman in many ways. Michelle was a spectacular mother/grandmother, giving her full love into each special memory she made with her children and grandchildren. She was a gifted cook and shared her love by filling those she adored with her delicious food (it was truly a love language for her). Friends looked forward to seeing her social media posts just to see what she was cooking that day. She could also find a bargain like no other, whether it was at a yard sale, surplus store, or Goodwill.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Jason Garretson, son, Josh (Meagan) Garretson of Newcomerstown; daughter, Brea (Tanner) Newbold of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Blake Allen, Jasper Jaycob, and Roselynn Grace; parents, George and Kathy Everhart; brothers, Mike (Becky) Everhart, and Tim (Hayley) Everhart; and fur babies, Hank and Honey.
Michelle was preceded in death by her special grandma, Rosemary Robinson.
Services will be held at The Branch Church in New Philadelphia, Ohio, on February 18th from 4-6pm. Cremation care has been entrusted to Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory.
