Maxine McIntyre Garretson, age 87, of Mount Pleasant, Texas passed away peacefully on December 17,2025. Maxine was born on April 10, 1938, along with her twin brother Max to Sherman and Ruby McIntyre.

Maxine graduated from Paul Pewitt High School in 1956 and married Nick Garretson on September 1, 1956. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Maxine attended Central United Methodist Church in Mineral Wells, Texas until the early 2000's when she and Nick moved to Mount Pleasant, Texas.

She attended Bridges Chapel Methodist Church. She was an accomplished seamstress and cook. She loved birds, especially owls, and treasured her collection of them. She also treasured her sewing machines and her famous fabric stash. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh.

Maxine is survived by 3 children, Jimmy Garretson (wife Billy), of Mount Pleasant, Texas, Randy Garretson (wife Cissi) Crawford, Texas, and Nickie Mahan (husband Gary Mahan) of Mount Pleasant, Texas. Eight grandchildren: Belinda Emmons (husband Wil), James Garretson, Randi Marie Williams (husband Brandon), Ryan "Eston" Garretson (wife Kylah), Kevin Garretson, Gary Mahan Jr, Amber Narayanan (husband Suresh), sister's-in-law, Ann McIntrye, Shirley McIntyre, and Linda Barnett, brother-in-law Jimmy Barron, 26 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren. Along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by husband Nick Garretson, parents, Sherman and Ruby McIntyre. Brothers MG, Max, Reginald McIntyre, and sister Karen Barron, father in-law Otis Garretson, mother in- law Mary Garretson, brother-in-law Johnny Barnett, grandson Dustin Garretson, infant granddaughters, and infant great great grandson.

The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful care given by Chambers Hospice. A very special thank you to Patricia Peoples for the love and care you gave our mother.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Greenhill Cemetery at 11:00 AM with Bro. Tony Lawson officiating.
