Publish in a newspaper
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, April 29th, 2025, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Atchison, KS with Fr. Meinrad Miller, OSB as Celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Patrick's Cemetery. A parish rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm on Monday, April 28th, followed by visitation until 8:00 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Benedict's School Endowment or St. Patrick's Cemetery and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be left online at www.beckerdyer.com.
George was born on May 26th, 1950, in Atchison, KS, the son of John J. and Helen (McCourt) Trompeter. He attended St. Patrick's Grade School and graduated from Atchison County Community High School in 1968. George attended the NEKS Vocational School studying Automotive Repair. He worked in many various body shops and later earned an Associate of Arts degree in Business from the Kansas City Community College. He owned and operated with his brothers, Tom and Dave, the Trompeter Brothers Auto Body Repair Shop in Grandview, MO. Following his mother's death George returned back to the family farm and helped on the farm and as a care giver for his brother Gary and his father. George was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church and enjoyed sports and watching movies.
George will be missed by his family as everyone in his big family got along with and enjoyed spending time with him. He is survived by six brothers, Ed (Debbie) Trompeter, Atchison, KS, Tom ( Sheyda ) Trompeter, Overland Park, KS, Dave Trompeter, Gardner, KS, Mark ( Michele ) Trompeter, Lawrence, KS, Stephen ( Julie ) Trompeter, Kansas City, MO, and Kenny (Sandy) Trompeter, Atchison, KS., and two sisters, Joanne Trompeter (Joy), Lenexa, KS, and Nancy (Daryl) Kravitz, Shawnee, KS, and numerous nieces and nephews. His parents, brother Gary Trompeter, and nephew Joe Trompeter preceded him in death.
