George Ohmer Vaughn, Jr. passed away on November 11, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and memorable moments in the hearts of his family and friends. Born on January 3, 1933, in Everman, Texas, he was a beloved son of George O. Vaughn, Sr. and Lillie Ruth Cox. George's upbringing in Justin, Texas, laid the foundation for a life rich in family values and community ties. He proudly graduated from Northwest High School in 1951, embarking on a journey that would see him become a valued member of both his profession and his family.

For a remarkable 36 years, George devoted his expertise as a Data Processor and Computer Programmer to Mobil Oil Corporation, contributing to the technological advancements that shaped the industry. Beyond his career, he was a man of many passions, with hobbies that included auto racing, music, hunting, and his unwavering support for the Dallas Cowboys. George cherished his weekly lunches at Golden Corral, where he delighted in the company of his favorite hostesses and friends. He also found solace and pleasure in the simple yet satisfying ritual of smoking his pipe.

As a father, George was a pillar of strength, affection, and dedication. He loved his family deeply and relished the holidays spent with loved ones. These special occasions, marked by Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter celebrations, brought together not only his immediate family but also the Louis Vaughn family, creating a tapestry of shared joy and cherished memories. George took pride in attending the Vaughn, Cox, and Brown reunions over the years, reinforcing the bonds of kinship that defined his life.

For over thirty years, George shared many unforgettable moments at deer hunting camps with his sons and friends, exploring the outdoors while forging memories that would last a lifetime. His deep love for racing saw him and his family attend numerous Sprint Car and NASCAR races, reveling in the thrill and camaraderie of the sport.

He leaves behind a cherished family who will keep his memories alive: his sons Van Vaughn, Dan Vaughn, and Louis Vaughn; grandchildren Regina Franco, Cheree Bishop, Chase Vaughn, Jeff Vaughn, Tonya Goodman, and Carrie Vaughn; and great-grandchildren Roman Bishop, Caedyn Bishop, Bailey Hammontree, Payten Wright, Logan Wright, Austin Griffin, Kallie Griffin, Ayden Vaughn, Legend Vaughn, Leila Vaughn, Beta Vaughn, Maddylynn Patterson, Cyndyl Mondragon, Murdoc Patterson, Garrett Vaughn, and Shiloh Goodman; great - great grandchildren: Nova Hammontree and Kyler Wright.

George was preceded in death by his parents, George O. Vaughn, Sr. and Lillie Ruth Vaughn, and his brother, Louis Pierre Vaughn.

His zest for life, passion for family, and irreplaceable spirit will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. The family invites all who wish to pay their respects to join them for visitation on November 17, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at 401 Elm St, Mansfield, TX, and for the graveside service at Everman Cemetery, 908 East Enon Avenue, Everman, TX, on November 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM.
