I learned many things from George. Parkinson´s had taken a toll on him when I first met him at boxing. He almost never missed a boxing session & never expected any special attention or help. One day I was coming to class & George was outside in the snow on his back. He had fallen but didn´t want any help getting up. I asked if he had been lying there long enough. He gave me a little head nod & accepted my help in getting up. After brushing him off, George took off into class with honor intact. I will always admire his pride & determination.

George, I will miss your smile and your humor. You added so much to our Parkinson's group and taught us all to just 'keep moving'. Sara

My deepest condolences to the Vestal Family. George and I grew up in the same neighborhood from the 40´s to the 60´s and enjoyed all the neighborhood games. Later on in life I was a Supervisor for Rockford Mass Transit, and got George a job as a driver. George was very well liked by his fellow employees and passengers. This is a picture from the 50´s on stilts. From left to right is Richard, Butch, myself, and George. Rest In Peace old friend...

So sorry for the loss to the Family of George. We grew up together as neighbors and friends. Used to play all the neighborhood games. Later in life, I was a Supervisor with Rockford Mass Transit and got George a driver´s position, and he was an excellent employee for many years. This is a picture of George, Roger, Richard and Myself on the tall stilts back in the 50´s. Rest In Peace George.

To all the Vestal family, I am so sorry to hear of George's passing. My family and I lived on Ashley Ave. with the Vestal's across the street from us. We were all such good friends growing up and have so many great memories! We will be out of town at the time of George's service, but definitely thinking of his family. Nancy and Wayne Swanson

As a doctor, when certain people are on the schedule, you know it's going to be a pleasure to see them, and George was one of those guys. No matter how bad things became for him, he continued to have that wry smile, a twinkle in his eye, and oftentimes, a joke to tell. I'll never forget the time he came in with goggles, a stethoscope, and a white lab coat embroidered with the name, George Vestal, DOM on the right side, and Doctor of Mischief on the left. I still have the photo on my cellphone. He was a stitch. And his positive spirit and love for life will be sorely missed by all. Anne, you were a wonderful caregiver to George and went above and beyond the call of duty. You demonstrated real love by the care you gave him. My deepest condolences go out to you.
